Be forewarned: The Gauntlet is not for the faint of heart. The Gauntlet is not for the thin-skinned. The Gauntlet is not for proponents of the status quo.
The Gauntlet is, however, for design students looking to get his or her portfolio in tip-top shape before that first job interview. This month-long event also kills two birds with one stone; students receive valuable feedback on their portfolios from industry veterans while visiting venerable local design studios in the process.
The Gauntlet: Studio Tour and Portfolio Review represents a new format for our annual spring event geared toward our student members. Instead of cramming multiple reviews with multiple reviewers into one day, groups of students will visit a different participating Charlotte design studio each Friday afternoon during the month of April to get their work critiqued by different sets of seasoned eyes.
As part of the visit, each participating studios will give a tour of their facilities and offer lessons on what students should expect after graduation. In other words, this practice gauntlet will help you prepare for the true gauntlet: the real business world.
The event kicks off on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 1 pm.
Registration ends Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 8 pm.
