The learning curve is steep, the key commands are complex, the page count is long; that is why you are here.

Mentor Matchup is an open-ended mentoring program designed to cultivate the career growth and professional success of designers at any stage in their career. Mentors and mentees will come together and work hand-in-hand to identify the mentee’s career goals and aspirations. Then, over the next few months (or more!) mentors will provide advice and guidance as they show their mentees the ropes. We encourage you to set timelines that benefit you.

Potential Mentees: (priority given to first time participants)

Are you searching for career guidance? Hoping to start your journey as a designer? Whether you are an emerging creator still in school, or a budding professional in the beginning of your career, having a mentor is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your professional growth.

Potential Mentors:

Do you remember all the mistakes you made when you first graduated? Ever wish you were back in design school and you had a semester to complete your projects? Do you have any tips for landing that first gig post graduation? Or negotiating a salary change?

Well, you’ve come to the right place. We are now accepting applications for mentors and mentees, both at any point in their career, for Winter 2022. Once mentors and mentees have applied, our board will match you based on your interests and desired career path.

Want to be a mentor AND a mentee? If you have personal experience to share with emerging creatives, but also want advice from more experienced mentors to grow your own career, you CAN have it all! Simply fill out both applications and we will match you with both a mentor and mentee.

At the virtual kickoff event, you’ll meet your mentor/mentee, hear great ideas for how to start your partnership and the specifics of the program itself. If you are unable to attend, please reach out to kmahon@charlotte.aiga.com.
