10 / 20 / 2012 is a collaborative art event featuring ten emerging artists from a variety of disciplines—fine art, design and illustration. In addition, there will be a multimedia room with sound and visual projection. The goal of the night is to feature the work of the artists and create a space for Charlotte’s creative community to meet and to dialogue. We know that when new connections are made, the community is enriched.

This event is being organized by and for the artists. As the recession forced the closing of multiple galleries in Charlotte, many emerging artists were left without representation and consistent venues for showing their work. 10 / 20 / 2012 is just one expression of the overall grass roots effort in Charlotte to keep the creative culture alive. The show will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 7:00 PM – midnite and is free admission for all ages. There will be a bar for anyone 21+ with an ID. Artists prints will be available. The event will be held at AKA Creative, 316 Remount Rd. Charlotte, NC 28203. More information can be found on the website tentwentytwentytwelve.com.
