Communications Committee

The mission of the communications committee is to position AIGA Charlotte as the authoritative design resource to members, local designers, those working in design-related industries, local government, media and the general public by telling compelling stories about events and initiatives that advance the design industry, are relevant to our community and promote social change.

Design for Good Committee

This committee is seeking designers with a passion for making a difference when it comes to social issues. The goal of Design for Good is to create a climate of social impact among the design community, to address social and economic conditions locally and to enhance the understanding of design thinking as a problem-solving tool.

Education Committee

The Education Committee is responsible for informing all area faculty about the AIGA mission and objectives, and to disseminate current information and discuss the status of the graphic design field in order to better prepare students to enter the professional level. In order to create an environment that encourages active student participation, the committee assists faculty and students who are interested in forming a student group and help recruit new members.

Events Programming Committee

The Event Programming Committee conceives and executes creative, business and environmentally focused events that are relevant to our members, colleagues, chapter partners, the businesses we serve as professionals and the culture of our city. Our events create value for AIGA Charlotte and help build our community. The Vice President of Programming, Programming Director and Event Managers work together to manage event content and identify program formats, venues, speakers and exhibits. We manage catering, AV, invitations and other needs within budget. The Committee is open to any members who are interested in volunteering.

Membership Committee

The membership committee is responsible for maintaining and growing the chapter’s membership by demonstrating the benefits of the organization. In addition to managing efforts to attract new members, the committee is also available to help answer questions about member benefits and opportunities. For information on the benefits of membership, visit the Membership page.

Sponsorship Committee

In every organization, there is a point at which it becomes necessary to obtain additional funding beyond dues and program fees. This is the stage when sponsorship development becomes vital to that organization’s continued growth. Sponsorship is a mutually beneficial relationship. By supporting AIGA programs, sponsors receive direct access to the buyers of their products and service, as well as, marketing opportunities they cannot obtain elsewhere. In turn, AIGA is strengthened by their support. The sponsorship committee is responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with companies and individuals who are currently or can potentially provide financial support to the chapter, and works closely with programming chairs when they are putting together their yearly plan of the events.
