Recipes for a One-Pot Life with Gage Mitchell

The average American spends five and a half times more hours working than they do pursuing their hobbies, yet, 80% of us are dissatisfied with our jobs. Is this just the way life works? You’ve gotta keep up with the Joneses and a job is merely a means to an end – money to live an exciting life outside of work. What if that’s not the only way? What if you could weave your passions into your work to build a career that fits you, that brings you satisfaction?

Whether you love your job, or hate every minute of it, join us for a talk exploring what Gage calls a “one-pot life”. We’ll hear stories of people who escaped the 80% to find a more fulfilling career on the other side, including Gage’s personal journey, and the tools, methods, and tips he’s learned along the way.

More About Our Speaker:

Gage Mitchell broke out of the standard career formula the day he realized he was essentially designing pretty trash. Disillusioned, he embarked on a journey that took him around the world to find a simple idea that’s guided him ever since. He’s now Partner and Creative Director at Modern Species, a sustainable brand design studio helping passionate people make the world a better place. He lives and works with his wife in Seattle, WA, where he’s President of the AIGA chapter and an Editorial Director for the Living Principles. He spends his free time doing “research” for work, like eating delicious food and drinking tasty beer.
